Edgbaston Reservoir Appreciation Walks

A series of explorative 'appreciation walks' of the Edgbaston  reservoir, which looked to offer new literal and metaphorical lenses for looking, and ways to go deeper with our everyday environments.

Drawing from the senses, environmental psychology and the perspectives and experiences of people in the walking group, together we walked a lap of the reservoir stopping to talk, enquire and unpick.

During and after the walk, attendees were invited to write and submit Tanka's* on the reservoir, to be installed at their site as part of a community festival.

'Edgbaston Reservoir appreciation club cards' were given to all those in attendance as recognition of these unrecognised but highly felt communities we sit within.

*an extended Haiku, historically used to convey expressions of love, or - appreciation, in this case.
